Our Story, Our People

Meet the team at
One 3 Care

Our Inspiration - Mark Ferguson

For many years our CEO’s husband, Mark Ferguson built a successful business advisory firm in the corporate sector.  Its success was due to a 100% focus on client needs.  In April 2023, Mark's life changed in an instant while on a family day out at the beach when one angry wave would deliver a cervical Spinal Cord Injury and Mark became an incomplete tetraplegic.

Navigating his own rehabilitation journey since 2023, Mark became determined to improve access to the kind of support he wished had been easier to find. This led him to advocate to establish One 3 Care so that people with neurological conditions can access the right help from Occupational Therapists who truly understand their condition

Our Clinical Lead - Renee Tay Zea

After graduating from the University of Queensland, Renee has spent the past 25 years in Brisbane specialising in adult neurological rehabilitation within the hospital, outpatient and home environments.

Renee has a deep understanding and respect for the body's ability to protect, heal and repair and is driven to understand how an injury may be impacting someone and advocate for change in their systems and environment. Renee works in a trauma informed way, pacing intervention and providing choices in managing fatigue, persistent pain and neurological recovery.

Why the name One 3 Care?

One 3 Care is an Occupational Therapy practice focused on supporting people with neurological and functional challenges to improve independence and everyday function.

The name One 3 reflects the three key components of the nervous system - the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. These systems work together to control movement, sensation, and how the body functions. When one part is affected, the entire system can be impacted.

At One 3 Care, we take a whole person approach to therapy, recognising the connection between the nervous system and everyday life.

Our practice is built on strong clinical supervision, where therapists receive ongoing mentoring and guidance from experienced Clinical Leaders. This ensures our clients benefit from collaborative expertise, high-quality care, and a well supported therapy team.
